Induction Ceremony ‘Freshers’ 2024′ Marks Inspiring Start for AHS and HS Students at SRMIST

Today first-year students at Allied Health Sciences (AHS) and Health Sciences (HS) Colleges of SRM Medical College Hospital and Research Centre were warmly welcomed.

They had an impressive induction ceremony at Dr T P Ganesan Auditorium. The event was themed ‘Freshers 2024’ graced by esteemed guests. They emphasized the importance of compassion and dedication to studies. Professionalism in healthcare professions was also highlighted at the Induction ceremony for the freshers of various disciplines.

Mr. N Ram, Director of The Hindu Group, delivered the keynote address. He highlighted the significance of continuous learning. Skill enhancement in the medical field was also discussed. He commended SRMIST for its rigorous entrance examination system. Commitment to quality education across over 100 courses where around 1500 students were enrolled.

Dr. J S N Murthy former Vice Chancellor of SRIHER underscored the pivotal role of allied health sciences and health sciences professionals in the healing process. They work alongside doctors and encouraged students to seize every opportunity they have to learn.

Dr. P. Sathyanarayanan Pro Chancellor (Academics) at SRMIST, stressed the importance of domain knowledge and effective communication skills. These are critical for success in professional life. In addition to this, he highlighted the institution’s efforts in providing comprehensive educational and extracurricular opportunities to students.

Dr. Lt. Col. A. Ravikumar Pro Vice-Chancellor and Faculty of MHS emphasized the values of discipline and compassion in patient care. These are essential traits for healthcare professionals.
