Breast Cancer Awareness Month 2024 – A Month of Learning and Empowerment at SRM Medical College Hospital & Research Centre!!

The Department of General Surgery at SRM Medical College Hospital & Research Centre, Kattankulathur, successfully organized Breast Cancer Awareness Month 2024, marked by a variety of engaging and educational events to create awareness and empower the healthcare community.

Event Highlights

1. Poster Competition:
The Health students showcased their creativity and commitment to breast cancer awareness through a Poster Competition. A total of 23 participants presented impactful campaigns, emphasizing the importance of early detection and awareness.

2. PPT Presentation Competition:
The Nurses from SRMMCHRC displayed their expertise and understanding in a PowerPoint Presentation Competition on the topic “Nursing Care in Breast Cancer.” The event witnessed participation from 23 dynamic teams, fostering professional growth and sharing of best practices.

3. CME Programme:
A Continuing Medical Education (CME) program titled “Recent Advances in Breast Cancer Management” was delivered by Dr. Kishore Kumar, a renowned Surgical Oncologist. The session provided valuable insights into cutting-edge treatment modalities and advancements in breast cancer care.

4. Quiz Competition:
The Final-year MBBS students showcased their knowledge in a Quiz Competition on “Breast & Breast Cancer.” The event saw 18 enthusiastic teams competing in a spirited test of knowledge, encouraging an in-depth understanding of the subject.

Grand Finale – Valedictory Function

The grand Valedictory Function held on 8th November 2024 was graced by Dr. Sivasundari, a Senior Gynaecologist and Robotic Surgeon, as the Guest Speaker. She delivered an inspiring address, highlighting the role of healthcare professionals in combating breast cancer.

The event concluded with the distribution of prizes to the winners by esteemed dignitaries from SRM Medical College Hospital & Research Centre, acknowledging their exceptional contributions and efforts.
