Medical Camp Collaboration Between SRMIST and RGNIYD: A Community Success

SRM Institute of Science and Technology (SRMIST) in collaboration with the Rajiv Gandhi National Institute of Youth Development (RGNIYD), Sriperumbadur, sponsored a medical camp at Kilapakkam organised by the Department of Community Medicine, SRM Medical College Hospital and Research Centre (SRMMCHRC).

The camp featured the participation of several specialised departments, including:

● Community Medicine
● General Surgery
● Obstetrics and Gynecology (OBG)
● Paediatrics
● Ear, Nose, and Throat (ENT)
● Dermatology
● Psychiatry
● Audiology

These departments collectively ensured a holistic approach to healthcare, addressing a wide range of medical needs. The event recorded a significant footfall, with a total of 125 outpatient consultations. Out of these, 41 cases were referred for further treatment at SRM Medical College Hospital and Research Centre, highlighting the camp’s pivotal role in connecting the community to necessary medical interventions.

The success of this camp reinforces the importance of such initiatives and the positive impact they have on both the community and the participating students. SRMIST and RGNIYD look forward to continuing their partnership in future endeavours, contributing to the well-being and development of society at large.
