In a remarkable effort to promote equitable healthcare access, SRM Institute of Science and Technology (SRMIST), in collaboration with Cheshire Homes India, organised a multidisciplinary medical camp at Kadalur on July 3, 2025. The camp was spearheaded by the Department of Community Medicine, SRM Medical College Hospital and Research Centre.
The camp brought together a team of specialists from General Surgery, Obstetrics & Gynaecology (OBG), Paediatrics, ENT, Ophthalmology, Dermatology, Audiology, Orthopaedics, and Community Medicine, who provided comprehensive medical consultations to residents in and around Kadalur.
A total of 106 patients were seen during the camp, with 34 cases identified for further referral and advanced medical care. The event underscored the vital role of collaborative healthcare outreach in addressing medical needs in underserved areas.
This initiative reflects SRMIST’s ongoing commitment to social responsibility, community engagement, and delivering quality healthcare beyond hospital walls. Cheshire Homes India’s active involvement further reinforced the shared vision of inclusive and accessible healthcare for all.
The camp concluded successfully with positive community feedback, reaffirming the impact of academic-medical partnerships in advancing public health.
