SRMMCHRC Organises Medical Camp at Acharapakkam, Benefiting 190 Patients

The Department of Community Medicine at SRM Institute of Science and Technology (SRMIST), in collaboration with the Department of Cardiology, successfully organised a comprehensive medical camp at Acharapakkam on 13 September 2025. The initiative aimed to provide accessible healthcare services to the local community and promote preventive health awareness.

During the camp, a total of 190 patients received consultations across various specialities. Among them, 19 patients were identified as requiring advanced medical care and were referred for free treatment at the SRM Medical College Hospital and Research Centre. The event offered residents an opportunity to undergo health screenings, receive expert advice, and access essential medical support without any financial burden.

The camp was further distinguished by the presence of Deputy Collector Tmt. S. Malathi Helan, whose visit inspired both volunteers and participants alike. Her encouragement highlighted the importance of community-driven healthcare initiatives and the role of institutions like SRMIST in supporting public health.

Volunteers from SRMIST, including doctors, medical students, and staff, actively engaged with the community, ensuring smooth registration, consultation, and follow-up processes. The camp not only addressed immediate healthcare needs but also reinforced the institution’s commitment to social responsibility and community well-being.
