SRM Medical College Hospital & Research Centre Conducts Medical Camp at Nelvoy

The Department of Community Medicine, SRM Medical College Hospital & Research Centre, in collaboration with SRM Institute of Science and Technology (SRMIST) and SDNB Vaishnav College for Women, organised a one-day medical camp at Nelvoy village on October 15, 2025.

The camp aimed to provide accessible healthcare services to the rural community and raise awareness about preventive health practices. A multidisciplinary team of doctors and healthcare professionals from the Departments of General Surgery, Obstetrics & Gynaecology, Paediatrics, Ophthalmology, Dermatology, Orthopaedics, ENT, Psychiatry, Audiology, and Community Medicine volunteered their time and expertise.

The event saw an encouraging turnout, with 106 patients receiving consultations and essential medical support. Among them, 30 individuals were referred to SRM Medical College Hospital & Research Centre for further evaluation and free treatment.

The camp was graced by the presence of Mrs. Vennila, Ward Councillor of Kothimangalam Panchayat, and Mrs. Sumathi, Headmistress of Nelvoy Government Primary School, whose participation motivated both the medical team and the local residents.

Through such outreach initiatives, SRM Medical College Hospital & Research Centre continues its commitment to extending quality healthcare beyond the hospital premises and supporting the health and well-being of nearby communities.
