Cancer Awareness Rally Held by Department of Pathology, SRMMCH&RC

The Department of Pathology at SRM Medical College Hospital and Research Centre organised a Cancer Awareness Rally on November 6, 2024. The event set out with a simple but crucial goal: to help more people understand how early detection and preventive habits can save lives.

Doctors, faculty members, students, and residents walked together through the campus and nearby areas, carrying messages about the importance of regular screenings, lifestyle changes, and the need not to ignore early warning signs. What stood out was the mix of energy and purpose—medical professionals shared quick, approachable explanations while students engaged with passersby and encouraged conversations about health.

The rally also served as a reminder that cancer awareness isn’t limited to one month or one event. It’s a continuous effort, and SRM MCH & RC used the day to push that message forward. By involving both the academic community and the public, the initiative created a space where people could ask questions, clear doubts, and pick up practical information they could take home.

Overall, the rally reinforced the ongoing commitment to community health and underscored how collective involvement can make a tangible difference in early diagnosis and prevention.
