About Us
- The Department of Otorhinolaryngology-Head & Neck Surgery (ENT) at SRM Medical College Hospital and Research Centre has transformed from a small unit into a larger team providing tertiary care facilities in the past decade.
- The department headed by Dr. G. Selvarajan, comprising many other faculty, provides medical care at the highest level of quality in SRM Medical College. The department provides MS Otorhinolaryngology for PG students. It also comprises the Department of Audiology, Speech-language pathology. It is one of the busiest OPD in the hospital where both elective and emergency care is provided.
- Our core services are the treatment of ailments of the Ear, Nose, and throat. We offer the best surgical results for diseases of the Ear, Nose, and throat.
- PG Eligibility : Pass In MBBS or its Equivalent Degree recognized by NMC (Canditates completing the CRRI / CRMI on or before 31st March of the Year) NEET PG score as prescribed by NMC.

Infrastructure
- Exclusive of Departmental library in addition to the centralised library with 116 books, 3 International journals, 3 Indian journals, online access to international publications and indexed journals are available.
- State of art TEMPORAL BONE DISSECTION SKILL LABORATORY-which consists of four temporal bone dissection stations with four imported microscopes, temporal bone holder, instrument tray, motor drill system, suction apparatus etc.
- Separate air conditioned clinical classrooms for undergraduate and postgraduate students.
- Modernised seminar hall with smart board and Demonstration room
- Undergraduate teaching comprises both clinical and theory for MBBS students Regular symposiums, seminars, and group discussions are being conducted. Students get adequate clinical exposure both in the ward and outpatients. Regular Clinical assessments, counseling regarding patient care, and internal assessments are being conducted.
- The postgraduate teaching program is followed as per the schedule which includes a Theory class, Journal club, Seminar, and Case discussion. Internal assessment and regular clinical assessment are being done.
- Postgraduates get adequate hands-on training in all OPD procedures like Endoscopies, Nasal packing, Vestibular evaluation, Emergency airway management, Foreign body removal, Otomicroscopy, and Stroboscopy.
- Provides hands-on training for major ENT surgeries like Tonsillectomy, Adenoidectomy, Septoplasty, Nasal bone fracture reduction, Tracheostomy, Direct Laryngoscopy, Tympanoplasty, Mastoidectomy, and FESS. Training is also given for surgeries like Bronchoscopy, Oesophagoscopy, Thyroidectomy, Total Laryngectomy, and Neck Dissection.
- Post-graduates have periodic rotations in various peripheral postings like Audiology, Radiology, Pulmonology, Medical and Surgical Oncology, Plastic surgery, and Neurosurgery.
