10th International Conference on Human Values in Higher Education
The 10th International Conference on Human Values in Higher Education (ICHVHE) was organised by the UHV Foundation, Delhi, as a global online event from 19 to 21 December 2025. Conducted via Zoom, the conference brought together educators, researchers, policymakers, and practitioners to deliberate on the role of value-driven education in empowering youth and building a happy and peaceful world.
Centred on the theme Empowering Youth through Value-Driven Education – For a Happy and Peaceful World, the conference saw the participation of over 3,000 delegates from more than 50 countries, underlining the growing global emphasis on human values in education.
The three-day conference was thematically structured. Day one focused on the vision for value-driven education and its role in empowering youth. Day two explored education as a means to develop a shared global vision, with discussions on living together as a world family and building a humane society. Day three emphasised the implementation of value-driven education, highlighting practical approaches to holistic and value-based learning.
The program featured panel discussions on Higher Education, Holistic Health, and the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), along with seminars on School Education and Counselling. To ensure global accessibility, sessions were held in two time slots each day, accommodating participants across different time zones.
A key highlight was the panel discussion on Holistic Health, moderated by Mr. Manoj Jhalani, Director – Health Systems Development, WHO South-East Asia Region, and Dr. Sharmila Asthana, AICTE–UHV Resource Person and author of Holistic Human Health. Their insights brought together global public health perspectives, policy frameworks, and the principles of Universal Human Values.
Dr. V. Sathyanarayanan, Associate Dean – Student Affairs and UHV Co-Coordinator, SRM Institute of Science & Technology, actively participated as a panellist across all three days. He shared perspectives on integrating human values into health education and stressed the need to move beyond disease-centric models towards holistic, value-driven healthcare education. He also presented a session titled Value-Driven Health Education – A New Paradigm from SRM, showcasing SRM’s initiatives in embedding Universal Human Values into medical and health sciences education through integrated curricula, wellness programs, and student-centric support systems.
The conference was hosted and broadcast from SRM Institute of Science & Technology, Chennai, SRM Institute of Science & Technology, Delhi-NCR Campus, and Ajay Kumar Garg Engineering College, Ghaziabad, with support from several national and international partners.
Overall, the 10th ICHVHE served as an important global platform to reaffirm the role of human values in higher and health education, encouraging holistic approaches to nurture socially responsible, ethical, and humane professionals.
