13 SRM Medical College Postgraduates Selected for Union Government Research Grants
SRM Medical College Hospital & Research Centre has achieved a significant milestone in postgraduate medical research, with 13 MD/MS postgraduates selected for Union Government research grants under the Human Resource Development (HRD) Scheme of the Department of Health Research.
The institution recorded a 52% selection rate, significantly above the reported national average of 20%. The achievement is particularly notable given that more than 6,500 applications were received from across the country under the programme.
The selected thesis proposals represent a diverse range of medical and healthcare research areas, including Microbiology, Anaesthesia, Community Medicine, Biochemistry, Ophthalmology, General Medicine and Paediatrics.
Each selected research proposal will receive grant support of ₹1 lakh, providing valuable financial support for the execution of the proposed research work.
The strong selection of postgraduate researchers highlights the institution’s continued focus on strengthening research capabilities, encouraging evidence-based medical inquiry and creating opportunities for young clinicians to contribute to advancements in healthcare.
