20th Convocation Ceremony 2024 at SRMIST
The SRM Institute of Science and Technology (SRMIST) organized its 20th Convocation Ceremony at the Kattankulathur campus, celebrating the academic accomplishments of over 10,500 graduates. Degrees were conferred across diverse disciplines, including Medical and Health Sciences, Agricultural Sciences, Science and Humanities, Law, and Management.
The ceremony witnessed the presence of esteemed dignitaries, including Dr. T. R. Paarivendhar, Founder and Chancellor, SRMIST; Dr. P. Sathyanarayanan, Pro-Chancellor (Academics); Dr. S. Ponnusamy, Registrar; and Dr. T. Mythili, Additional Registrar (Medical and Health Sciences). Joining them were Prof. A. Vinay Kumar, Pro Vice-Chancellor (Faculty of Science and Humanities, Management, and Law); Dr. Nitin M. Nagarkar, Pro Vice-Chancellor (Medical and Health Sciences) In-charge; and Dr. K. Gunasekaran, Controller of Examinations, along with several Deans, Directors, and faculty members.
Dr. C. Muthamizhchelvan, Vice-Chancellor of SRMIST, delivered the welcome address. In his inspiring speech, he encouraged the graduates to reflect on their academic journeys and recognize the significance of their accomplishments. “The convocation is not merely a celebration of your past achievements but a recognition of the promising futures that lie ahead,” he emphasized. The annual report showcasing SRMIST’s recent rankings, accreditations, and milestones was also presented during the event.
The Chief Guest, Prof. Mahesh Chandra Misra, Chairman of the Board of the Centre for Accreditation of Health & Social Care (CAHSC), “ATLS INDIA CHAIR,” and Former Director of AIIMS, New Delhi, addressed the gathering. He lauded the SRM alumni for their outstanding contributions to their respective fields and shared valuable life lessons with the graduating students. Quoting the profound adage, “The rise and fall are in the law of nature, so don’t worry—no matter how circumstances change,” he encouraged the graduates to embrace life’s challenges with resilience and optimism.
The event was a momentous occasion for graduates, their families, and the SRMIST fraternity, marking another milestone in the institute’s legacy of academic excellence.
