Department of Anaesthesia Students Secure First Prize at HYPNOTECH National Conference
Students from the Department of Anaesthesia, School of Allied Health Sciences, SRMIST, have brought laurels to the institution by securing First Prize in both the Poster Presentation and Quiz Competition at HYPNOTECH – National Conference, held on 13th August 2026 at SRM Medical College and Hospital, Trichy.
As part of the conference, Mr. Sri Gowtham (RA2522030010003) and Ms. Harini (RA2522030010010), 3rd Semester MSc Anaesthesia students, presented a poster titled “Beyond the Mallampati: An Evidence-Based Look at AI’s Real Predictive Power in Difficult Airway Management.”
The students explored the emerging role of Artificial Intelligence in difficult airway management, with a focus on its predictive capabilities beyond conventional airway assessment methods.
The quiz competition was represented by Mr. Sri Gowtham (RA2522030010003), Ms. Harini (RA2522030010010), Ms. Sujitha (RA2522030010020), and Ms. Merlin Suja (RA2522030010013). The team demonstrated their knowledge and clinical understanding to secure First Prize in the Quiz Competition.
The achievements reflect the students’ academic excellence, knowledge and active participation in professional and academic forums, bringing recognition to the Department of Anaesthesia and SRMIST.
