Dr. Sathya T Presents Research at Singapore Conference on Aging and Health 2026

Dr. Sathya T, University Wellness Program Coordinator, represented the institution at the Singapore Conference on Aging and Health 2026, held from February 2 to 3 in Singapore.

The conference was organised by the Center for Ageing Research and Education (CARE) at Duke-NUS Medical School and brought together researchers, clinicians, and public health professionals from across the globe to discuss emerging perspectives in geriatric care and community health.

The theme for this year’s conference, “Aging Well in the Community – Exploring New Horizons,” focused on strengthening community-based approaches to support healthy and dignified ageing.

During the scientific sessions, Dr. Sathya T presented her research paper titled “Elder Abuse, Perceived Age Discrimination, Neighbourhood Environment and Food Insecurity among Older Adults in India: A Cross-Sectional Study.” The study examines critical social and environmental determinants that influence the well-being of older adults, highlighting the interconnected challenges of abuse, discrimination, food insecurity, and neighbourhood conditions in the Indian context.

Her participation and presentation at this international platform underscore the University’s ongoing commitment to advancing research in public health, social well-being, and inclusive community development.
