Eye-Opening Lecture Delivered on Urogynecological Health: IWD 2025

The Department of Obstetrics and Gynaecology, SRM Medical College Hospital & Research Centre, Kattankulathur, celebrated International Women’s Day 2025 with a Continuing Medical Education (CME) program on “Women & Urogynecological Health – Bridging the Gap.” Held on March 13, 2025, at the Hospital Seminar Hall, this event addressed the critical but often overlooked aspects of urogynecological health.

Urogynecological conditions like urinary incontinence, pelvic organ prolapse, and faecal incontinence significantly impact women’s lives. Despite their prevalence, they remain under-discussed due to stigma and lack of awareness. This CME program underscored the importance of early diagnosis, effective management, and an empathetic approach to women’s health.

The event concluded with a call to action, emphasising the need to continue breaking down barriers, driving progress, empowering the next generation of female healthcare professionals, and advocating for policies that promote equity and opportunity for all.
