Faculty Achievement at SRM Medical College Hospital and Research Centre Dec-24

Dr. C. Tharun Ganapathy, Professor of General Surgery at SRM Medical College Hospital and Research Centre (SRMMCHRC), delivered three impactful faculty talks on “GEM Modern Hernia Challenges & Mitigating Complications”. The Conference was held at GEM Hospital, Perungudi, on 6th and 7th December 2024.

The conference brought together leading experts to discuss advancements in hernia surgery and solutions to overcome related challenges. Key topics included:

● Early Challenges: Managing infected skin and umbilicus
● Access-Related Challenges: Overcoming hurdles during surgical procedures
● Laparoscopic Hernia Surgery (eTEP): Techniques for addressing inguinoscrotal hernias

Dr. C. Tharun Ganapathy’s contributions were well-received by peers and participants, showcasing his expertise in laparoscopic hernia surgery.

Adding to the honour, Dr. C. Tharun Ganapathy was felicitated by the legendary Prof. C. Palanivelu, widely regarded as the Father of Modern Laparoscopic Surgery, with a copy of Prof. Palanivelu’s autobiography, a gesture symbolising recognition of excellence and dedication to the field.
