SRM Medical College Hospital and Research Centre Launched “Sid-Arche”: A Pioneering UG Research Box Initiative
SRM Medical College Hospital and Research Centre (SRMMCHRC) inaugurated a new project called Sid-Arche, which is directed for the development of undergraduate research activities. The name “Sid-Arche” is derived quite creatively: “Siddhi” from Sanskrit for “achievement” or “perfection” and “Archē” from Greek meaning “origin” or “beginning.” Sid-Arche is one of the best opportunities for students to create a great CV, develop research skills, and become initiators of further medical discoveries of the future.
The “Sid-Arche” initiative was launched by Mr. Chris Pierret, the Assistant Dean, Academic Affairs of the Mayo Clinic Graduate School of Biomedical Sciences, in the presence of Dr. K. V. Leela, Associate Dean of Undergraduate Studies (MHS) and Dr. V. Sathyanarayanan, Professor & Associate Dean of Student Affairs at SRMMCHRC.
Mr. Preetish Narayan (3rd MBBS student) and Vice President of Student Council have brought this idea, and the present President of the Student Council, K. V. K. Hariharakarthick, has made this dream turn into a reality.
Expanding on its role as a multidisciplinary research center, SRMMCHRC is ripe for making ‘Sid-Arche’ the new flagship where students are challenged to advance the research frontier and be part of global society’s progress and medical discovery domain. SRMMCHRC is one of the best medical colleges in India and wants to build the next generation of medical practitioners with knowledge, innovation, and passion.
