SRM Medical College Hospital and Research Centre organised Comprehensive Health Camp

SRMIST in association with CRDS funded a Medical Camp aid by the Department of Community Medicine of SRM Medical College Hospital and Research Centre. This camp was celebrated on July 30, 2024, at Uyyali Kuppam, Meiyur, with the objective of offering primary health care to the population of this area.

The camp involved key health specialists drawn from different departments including; General; Medicine, General Surgery, Obstetrics and Gynecology (OBG), Pediatrics, ENT, Audiometry and Psychiatry departments. These departments coordinated in order to provide medical check up, consultations, and treatment services to the attendees of the event thus provide solutions to most health challenges.

The camp was therefore characterized by massive engagement of health workers in the institution and endorsement of the community The engagements showed the institution’s concern in enhancing community health beyond the hospital. Notable for his visit at the camp at short time of the camp Mr. Augustine the Director of CRDS supported the project. The positive presence of such a personality highlighted such commune-centered healthcare functions.

The result of this medical camp shows that SRM Medical College Hospital and Research Centre is seriously committed to undertake health related community services and its consistent endeavor to enhance health facility for the community. It is still relevant even in the present date in delivering health care services to marginalized groups of the community.
