SRM Medical College Hospital & Research Centre (SRMMCHRC), in collaboration with SRM College of Nursing, successfully organised the Transgender Care Awareness Program on January 21, 2025, at the Hospital Seminar Hall. This impactful event aimed to foster awareness and understanding of transgender healthcare needs, bringing together distinguished experts in the field.

● Dr. L. Ramakrishnan – Highlighted the need to break stigmas surrounding transgender care and the importance of social acceptance.
● Dr. Uma A. N. & Dr. Usha Sriram – Provided in-depth discussions on gender-affirming hormone therapy, its medical considerations, and its role in transgender well-being.
● Dr. Swati Pawar, Dr. Saravana Kumar S, & R. Arun – Spoke about surgical interventions, mental health support, and holistic care for transgender individuals.
