SRMIST and Agavan Trust Organise Health Camp at Aanandamangalam
The Department of Community Medicine, SRM Institute of Science and Technology (SRMIST), in association with Agavan Trust, organised a free medical camp on 15 August 2025 at Aanandamangalam village. The camp was part of the institute’s ongoing community outreach initiatives to make healthcare accessible to rural populations.
A total of 245 outpatients attended the camp and received consultations from doctors across general medicine and allied specialties. Basic health check-ups, screening, and awareness on preventive healthcare were also provided. Of the patients examined, six were identified as requiring advanced care and were referred to SRM Medical College Hospital and Research Centre, Kattankulathur, with yellow cards issued to facilitate free follow-up treatment.
Faculty members, medical staff, and volunteers from SRM Medical College Hospital and Research Centre, along with representatives of Agavan Trust, actively participated in coordinating the programme and supporting patients throughout the day. The camp addressed immediate health concerns; emphasized the importance of regular check-ups and early intervention.
