“Swasth Nari Sashakt Parivar Abhiyaan” – Campaign Day 1
On 17th September 2025, the “Swasth Nari Sashakt Parivar Abhiyaan” was successfully inaugurated at SRM Medical College Hospital and Research Centre, Kattankulathur, Chengalpattu District. This initiative aimed to promote hygiene, empower women and children, and enhance family health through awareness and medical support.
The program was led by the following esteemed officials:
- Dr. Nitin M. Nagarkar, Dean, SRM Medical College Hospital and Research Centre
- Dr. K. V. Leela, Associate Dean (UG Studies), SRM Medical College Hospital and Research Centre
- Dr. R. Logaraj, Professor & Associate Dean – Quality Assurance, SRM Medical College Hospital and Research Centre
- V.V. Anantharaman, Professor and Head of Department of Community Medicine, SRM Medical College Hospital and Research Centre
- Dr. R. Venkatraman, Medical Superintendent, SRM Medical College Hospital and Research Centre
- Dr. Aamina Hussain, Assistant Professor, Department of Community Medicine, SRM Medical College Hospital and Research Centre
The event commenced with a Free Medical Camp, offering comprehensive health check-ups and consultations to beneficiaries, particularly focusing on women from the surrounding community. This initiative provided an opportunity for early detection of health issues and offered appropriate guidance and referrals.
The camp was conducted collaboratively with specialty departments, including:
- Obstetrics & Gynaecology (OG)
- Paediatrics
- Ophthalmology
- ENT
- Respiratory Medicine
- Psychiatry
- Dermatology
- Community Medicine
Doctors from these departments actively participated in delivering medical services under the coordination of Dr. Sangita, Senior Resident, Department of Community Medicine.
In addition, health education sessions were conducted on:
- Hand Hygiene Practices
- Nutritional Supplementation Guidance
