SRM Medical College Hospital and Research Centre organized a Rally for Women’s Safety

Under the theme ‘The safety of women is not negotiable’, SRM Medical College Hospital and Research Centre (SRMMCHRC) organized a parade on 17th August 2024.

Other distinguished personalities at the rally included Dr. R. Venkatraman, Medical Superintendent, SRMMCHRC, Dr. K. V. Leela, Associate Dean – Undergraduate Studies (MHS) and Dr. J. S. Kumar, Associate Dean Post Graduate Academic (MHS). This was well illustrated by their presence, which testified to the institution’s commitment to the promotion of this important cause.

The postgraduate students and interns of SRMMCHRC enthusiastically participated in the rally-inspired and spearheaded by Mr. Hariharakarthic, the Student Council President. This way, their engagement underlined the society’s passion for protecting women from violent acts. Also, the students and faculties of SRM Institute of Science and Technology (SRMIST) also took part in the rally, echoing the demand for a safer environment for women.

It also created awareness on one of the most important topics of this generation: safety of women and maternity; moreover, the event excluded a sense of togetherness among the participants. SRMMCHRC is fully committed to advocacy for women and the provision of safety and support to women as it seeks to provide the best healthcare services to women as provided by its core values of excellence and advocacy.
