SRM Medical College Hospital and Research Centre (SRMMCHRC) celebrated World Quality Day on 14th November 2024, bringing together healthc  are professionals to emphasize this year’s theme: “From Compliance to Performance.”

The event was a resounding success, marking another step in SRMMCHRC’s commitment to delivering exceptional healthcare services. To build awareness, the day before the celebration saw a creative touch, with Mickey Mouse-themed mascots visiting various departments to engage and energize the staff. 

Event Highlights:

The event began with a Welcome Address by Dr. R. Venkatraman, Medical Superintendent, SRMMCHRC followed by the Presidential Address delivered by Dr. Nithin M. Nagarkar, Pro-Vice Chancellor I/C (Medical and Health Sciences) & Dean (Medical), SRMMCHRC. 

The guest speakers enriched the event with their expertise,

~ Dr. Major Prasanna Kumar, Professor & HOD of ENT, Head & Neck Surgery, SRIHER (Deputy Medical Director, Patient Care and Quality, SRMC, Chairman QIPST, SRMC), spoke on “Quality is Everyone’s Responsibility – How and Why?” 

~ Dr. T. Swarnalingam, Professor & HOD, Critical Care Medicine, SRMMCHRC, shared insights on Communication in the Healthcare Profession

~ Mr. Balaji Srinivasan, Founder & CEO of Heal Consulting, presented on Risk Management in Hospitals

Celebrating Excellence: 

~ Ms. Pramila Roseline – Clinical Instructor; Ms. Simione – Clinical Instructor; Ms. Annie Jasline – Nursing Educator from SRM Medical College Hospital and Research Centre won the Kahoot Quiz competitions conducted on the day of the celebration.

Additionally, Best Department Awards were presented in various categories from SRM Medical College Hospital and Research Centre: 

Best Ward – General Medicine; Best ICU – SICU; Best OPD – ENT; Best Outsourced Department – Laundry; Best OT – Second Floor OT; Best Non-Clinical Department – Front Office; Best Diagnostic Services – Biochemistry; Best Allied Health Department – Physiotherapy

A special mention to the Hospital Infection Control  Department for grabbing the Overall Best Performance among all the departments at SRM Medical College Hospital and Research Centre.
