Guest Lecture on Systems Biology and Translational Research at GIMS, Greater Noida

Dr. Kalaiarasan Ponnusamy, Assistant Professor, Division of Medical Research, SRM Institute of Science and Technology, Chennai, delivered a guest lecture titled From Molecules to Networks: A Modern View of Biological Complexity at the Department of Medical Research, GIMS, Greater Noida, on 03 December 2025.

Representing SRM Medical College, Dr. Kalaiarasan Ponnusamy presented a contemporary perspective on systems biology, emphasising network-based approaches to understanding disease mechanisms. The session benefited faculty members, residents, and research scholars, offering them deeper insights into biological complexity and its relevance to translational research.

The visit also included an interaction with Dr. (Brig.) Rakesh Kumar Gupta, Director, GIMS, and the institutional leadership. Discussions focused on potential collaborative research initiatives, joint training programs, and the exploration of a possible Memorandum of Understanding between SRM and GIMS to strengthen academic and research partnerships.

The engaging discussions and active participation reflected a shared commitment by both institutions to foster meaningful collaborations in medical research and capacity building.
