Eye-Opening Lecture Delivered on Urogynecological Health: IWD 2025
The Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology, SRM Medical College Hospital & Research Centre, Kattankulathur, celebrated International Women’s Day 2025 with a Continuing Medical Education (CME) program on “Women & Urogynecological Health – Bridging the Gap.” Held on March 13, 2025, at the Hospital Seminar Hall, this event addressed the critical but often overlooked aspects of urogynecological health.

Urogynecological conditions like urinary incontinence, pelvic organ prolapse, and faecal incontinence significantly impact women’s lives. Despite their prevalence, they remain under-discussed due to stigma and lack of awareness. This CME program underscored the importance of early diagnosis, effective management, and an empathetic approach to women’s health.
Dr. Meera Ragavan, Secretary, Chennai Menopause Society & Consultant Urogynecologist, Apollo Hospitals, Chennai, –delivered a compelling talk on the importance of improving urogynecological health, early diagnosis, and treatment strategies, as a guest speaker.
