78 Faculty, 37 Departments, 81 Students Felicitated at SRM Doctors’ Day Celebration

The Illuminova – Doctors’ Day Celebration was held on the 11th of July 2025 at the Hippocrates Auditorium, SRM Medical College Hospital & Research Centre. The event was organised to honour the dedication, commitment, and outstanding contributions of the faculty, departments, and students who have consistently upheld the values of excellence in medicine, research, education, and service. It was an occasion to reflect on the noble responsibilities of the medical profession and to celebrate the collective achievements that define SRM’s academic and clinical strength.

The event commenced with a traditional lamp-lighting ceremony, followed by the Welcome Address by Dr. K.V. Leela, Associate Dean – UG Studies, who warmly greeted the dignitaries, faculty members, and students in attendance. This was followed by the Doctors’ Day Address by Dr. Lt. Col. A. Ravikumar, Advisor, SRM MCH & RC. The Presidential Address was delivered by Dr. Nitin M. Nagarkar, MS DNB, Pro Vice-Chancellor (I/C) & Dean, Medical

The centrepiece of the celebration was the felicitation ceremony. A total of 78 faculty members were honoured for their outstanding work in research, academics, clinical services, and contributions to institutional growth. Their recognition reflected SRM’s strong academic culture and its commitment to creating a thriving ecosystem of learning and innovation. In addition, 37 departments were felicitated for their achievements in research productivity, collaborative initiatives, outreach programs, and academic enrichment activities. 81 students were recognised for excellence in academics, research and extracurricular involvement.

The event concluded with a Vote of Thanks by Dr. Sathyanarayanan V, Associate Dean – Student Affairs, who expressed gratitude to all the dignitaries, organisers, awardees, and attendees for making the event a resounding success.
