About Us
- The Department of Emergency Medicine at SRM Medical College was established in the year 2015 and it is one of the few, well equipped, Infrastructed, busiest Emergency Department in Chennai, It is a LEVEL 1 trauma center and provides level 1 Emergency Services, located in NH 45 and covers both rural and urban population.
- Our Department provides the most advanced and personalized emergency medical care to almost 50,000 patients annually.
- The department provides comprehensive 24*7 medical and surgical care to all victims of acute illness, Our Department is equipped with trained and qualified Emergency Physicians and paramedical and nursing staff to handle all kinds of emergencies.
- Together as a team, our department works with the motto “Emergencies don’t wait either should you”
- PG Eligibility : Pass In MBBS or its Equivalent Degree recognized by NMC (Canditates completing the CRRI / CRMI on or before 31st March of the Year) NEET PG score as prescribed by NMC.

Dr.V.P.Chandrasekaran was Awarded the “Chevalier in Emergency Medicine” by the Honourable Governor of Tamil Nadu, Mr. K. Rosaiah, during the GAMET 2014 Conference for Emergency Medicine Dr.V.P.Chandrasekaran was awarded the Excellence in Emergency Medicine and Society Emergency in the year 2013. Dr.V.P.Chandrasekaran was awarded life time achievement award in the field of Emergency medicine awarded at international emergency medicine conference conducted by Asian Society For Emergency Medicine and SEMI at Delhi in November 2019 Dr.V.P.chandrasekar has given guest lectures in multiple national and international conferences. Dr.Arthi has given faculty lectures in EM_RENDEZVOUS 2022 held in Pondicherry on X-ray in ED, in EM-CONCLAVE 2022 on Ventilators and POCUS 2022 on BLUE and RUSH protocol held in SRM Medical College. Dr.Shanath Saravanan has received gold medal in MD Emergency Medicine from Vinayaga Mission University Salem and has 1st prize in poster presentation in TOXICON Dr.Shanath saravanan has given faculty talk in POCUS on central venous access. Dr.Hari Prasad has given a faculty talk on defibrillation in SCON ,airway in EM_CONCLAVE and miscellaneous of USG in POCUS. Dr.Rajakali has received gold medal in MD Emergency medicine from Ramachandra University 2022. Dr.Rajakali has given faculty talk on airway management in EM_CONCLAVE , E_fast in POCUS and cardiac arrest in API association Madurai.
