A CME on Pediatric Orthopaedics conducted at SRM Medical College Hospital and Research Centre
The SRM Medical College Hospital and Research Centre, Department of Orthopaedics organized a Continuing Medical Education on Pediatric Orthopaedics on 27th July 2024. A total of 74 delegates along with the Medical practitioners and students participated in the conference to gain more insight into the frequently encountered pediatric orthopedic issues and the contemporary treatment strategies.
The CME included the presentations given by five prominent scholars in the specialty of pediatric orthopedics. Several of these specialists contributed their vast information on various issues that concerned the advanced techniques in the diagnosis and treatment of childhood orthopedic disorders. Experts translated their knowledge in such vital areas as congenital anomalies, trauma, and surgical state-of-art.
The Continuing Medical Education undertook a specific skills acquisition on Ponseti casting a technique in managing clubfoot condition and also in applying hip spica which is a common requirement in managing some hip conditions in children. The practical session helped the attendees to acquire or strengthen particular skills and group the received theoretical knowledge into practical actions.
This CME program enabled each participant to learn more and interact with colleagues. The event was beneficial in improving the actual practice of the diagnosis, treatment, and prevention of musculoskeletal problems in children but also in cultivating the culture of continuous learning and delivery of superior health care services.
