A detailed alumni talk was conducted by the Department of Paediatrics, SRM Medical College Hospital & Research Centre (SRMMCHRC), on the 22nd of August, 2024. The talk included interaction with Dr. Swathi Padmanabhan (MBBS, MD, Fellowship in Paediatrics & Adolescent Endocrinology) passed out from SRM as an MBBS student in batch 2006-2012 and employed as a Consultant at Rainbow Children’s Hospital, Anna Nagar, Guindy.

Dr. Swathi delivered an engaging session titled “The Clock Ticks Early: More information about the topic will be presented to the audience through two lectures titled “Strategies for Using & Treating Precocious Puberty.” She mainly discussed the diagnosis of the disease at its early stages, the treatment regimens that should be applied, and other proper management measures to be taken.

Dr. S. Subash, Ph.D., M.D., Head of the Department and Professor of Paediatrics, inaugurated the event where 54 students and faculty of the college were engaged. The attendees had extensive discussions throughout the session, and examples helped turn the session into an experience that enriched all of the participants with knowledge on the subject.

The talk was followed by closing remarks from Dr. R. Prasanna, Professor of Pediatrics, who encouraged the continuance of such talk series, noting that the gap between what one learns and what one does can be bridged through such educative events.
