Awareness Program: Antenatal Mothers – Primary Health Center

The Department of Clinical Nutrition and Dietetics organized an awareness program for antenatal mothers visiting the primary health care center – Guduvanchery in association with ICDS, on 6.9.2023 as part of the National Nutrition Week -2023 celebration.

The Block Development Officer, Guduvanchery inaugurated the program The BDO insisted on the importance of healthy food and proper weight gain during each trimester of pregnancy. An oath of pledge towards the same was administered by the ICDS officer.

The students performed a skit on the importance of healthy food intake and weight gain during each trimester of pregnancy, myths and fads of foods prevailing in the community, awareness on the nutritional kit given under Dr. Muthulakshmi scheme for antenatal women. The charts depicting the same were displayed around the venue.

The students also displayed real-time cooked nutritious recipes, and food pyramid. A slide show on the same was presented. The antenatal mothers took part eagerly in an interactive session of question and answer from both sides. Nutritious navdhanya sundal was distributed to the antenatal mothers. KAP was assessed for pregnant mothers during the program.
