National Nutrition Month 2023

The Department of Clinical Nutrition and Dietetics at SRM Medical College Hospital and Research Centre culminated in a successful National Nutrition Month on September 20, 2023. The valedictory celebration was graced by the esteemed Dean, Dr. Nitin M. Nagarkar, and Vice Principal of Allied Health Sciences, Dr. Balakrishnan R., among other dignitaries.

We were privileged to have Dr. G. Dhanavathy, Assistant Professor of Biotechnology at SRMIST, as our guest speaker. Her insightful talk on ‘Impact of Nutrigenomics in Metabolic Diseases and Health’ left everyone enlightened.

A special thanks to Ms. Poornima, Child Development Project Officer (ICDS), for shedding light on ICDS functions and its role.

The event was adorned with various activities such as meme and slogan competitions, fashion walks, and outreach programs for antenatal mothers and schoolchildren. Dr. K. Silambu Selvi, Associate Professor, presented a comprehensive report on the month’s events.
