About Us
- The Department of Pathology was started as a part of the SRM Medical College and Hospital in the year 2005.
- Pathology is one of the most important bridging disciplines between basic medical sciences and clinical medicine where there is an in-depth study of the origin of disease, disease progression, and correlation with clinical manifestations.
- Pathology plays a crucial role in the diagnosis and management of various disease conditions including cancers through macroscopic (gross) and microscopic examination, various laboratory parameters, and ancillary testing methods.
- The Department of Pathology has a team of well-experienced faculty members to teach Undergraduate (MBBS) and postgraduate (M.D. Pathology) students and has excellent infrastructure within the college and in the diagnostic sections of the Central laboratory.
- A museum with nearly 800 mounted specimens and Multi-head (Decahead, Pentahead) microscopes are available in the department.
- PG Eligibility : Pass In MBBS or its Equivalent Degree recognized by NMC (Canditates completing the CRRI / CRMI on or before 31st March of the Year) NEET PG score as prescribed by NMC.
Our Vision
- To be a student-oriented unit and achieve overall excellence in academics, diagnostic services, and research
- To achieve national and international recognition, and contribute to the overall growth and progress of the Medical College and Hospital
- To effectively serve the patients and community in the nearby areas through high-quality diagnostic services
Our Mission
- To utilize a blend of traditional and advanced methods to render effective and enriching knowledge to the students
- To improve the lives of communities we serve through excellence in learning methods and healing with compassionate care
- To enrich learning, embrace change, create innovation, and help tackle the most important challenges in health care in our community
