About Us
- SRM Centre for Clinical Pharmacology is a dedicated research facility spanning 4500sq.ft with its focus on generating evidence for systematic evaluation of drugs, devices, and vaccines. The Centre has been involved in conducting several investigator-initiated studies, regulatory clinical trials, nationwide disease registries, and translational clinical research studies. Our facility has expertise in executing projects from its genesis to publication.
- The Centre is mainly involved in Clinical Research that performs sponsored Multi-centric Clinical Trials, Academic Clinical trials, and Principal Investigator-initiated Academic studies. At present, the Centre has one professor, one clinical research manager, one lecturer, two clinical research associates, one clinical research coordinator, one scientist, one scientific writer, one research administrative assistant, and three clinical pharmacists.
- The Centre has facilities to perform phase 3& phase /4 clinical trials including data documentation using electronic case report form or paper case report form, dedicated space for storing Investigational Medicinal Products, and Archival room for storage of documents of clinical trials that have been completed, Audio-Visual consenting room, Phlebotomy room, Data Monitoring Room, Board Room, Library, Seminar room, Document storage room, patient examination room, high-speed internet, power back up, -80 deep freezer, Ultra cooling centrifuge, refrigerator, Hot water bath, Autoclave, Incubator with shaker, ELISA washer, and reader and a clinical pharmacology lab for performing laboratory assays. The department was established in October 2012.

About the course
The M.Sc. Clinical Research degree program is designed to enable the candidate to excel as a Clinical Research Professional in the pharmaceutical industry, Contract Research Organizations, and hospitals.
The course is structured such that a candidate has a solid foundation in the basic medical sciences, followed by intensive training in regulations, ethics, clinical trial operations, clinical pharmacology, pharmacovigilance, data management, medical writing & biostatistics.
The candidate will gain hands-on experience in the various nuances concerning clinical trials in the hospital, biostatistics & scientific writing.

Infrastructure
The SRM Centre for Clinical Pharmacology is a pinnacle of modern infrastructure constructed specifically for advanced research with furnished air-conditioned rooms for work-space and storage. Every space is utilized efficiently, balcony space is utilized for trial studies like a 6-minute walk test.
Investigational Product storage room
Equipped with temperature-controlled storage units, 24/7 air-conditioned access controlled; and monitoring systems.
Document Storage Room
Access to the facility is restricted to authorized personnel only, Equipped with secure cabinets, shelves, and filing systems, the facility provides ample space to store a wide range of documents.
Data Monitoring Centre
End-to-end clinical trial site management including protocol development, data entry, data analysis, data interpretation, manuscript development, and publications. This sophisticated environment is also used for activities like site initiation, site visits, sponsor monitoring, and study audits. We perform Data Monitoring and Surveillance, Quality Control, Safety Monitoring, and Statistical Analysis.
Sample Processing and storage room
We are equipped with facilities that include a refrigerator, -80degree deep freezer, ultra cooling centrifuge, ELISA washer, ELISA reader, autoclave, an incubator with shaker, BP apparatus, hand grip dynamometer, Height scale & weight machine with temperature-controlled units set to optimal conditions for sample preservation.
AV Consent Room
Our AV Consent Room features multimedia presentations that explain key aspects of the research study in a clear and accessible manner.
Phlebotomy Room
We adhere to strict protocols for sterilization to meet stringent standards for infection control and patient safety during sample collection. The phlebotomy room is utilized for monitoring vitals, sample labeling, sample collection (whole blood serum plasma, urine samples, swabs), and sample documentation.
Board room
A versatile space designed to facilitate study-staff training, collaborative meetings, official hybrid meetings via (zoom, teams, and Google Meets), business meetings with national & international sponsors, and regulatory inspection for clinical trials.
